The inspection lens is heavy walled for maximum strength and is securely fastened to the housing with a bronze retainer ring plate.

To Replace old bowl, simply remove the bolts that hold the bowl on the strainer body, once removed replace bowl and reinstall the bolts. Careful not to overtighten or you can crack the lip!
